As happens regularly, a customer interested in a concept tested and distributed by Nova Moto comes to me for help because his dealership tells him that his motorcycle is incompatible and that assembly is impossible.
Nova Moto’s solution: a partnership and development relationship with the creators of motorcycle innovations, here Smart Turn System.
You should know that the process of identifying innovations, followed by more or less long tests, over thousands of kilometres, builds a solid supplier support relationship. In other words, if I don’t get an immediate answer, I can question the partner concerned and then we will know (of course, it takes time and energy that neither Nova Moto nor its partner charges…) whether or not we have reached the end of the exercise.
In this case, the relationship with the Smart Turn System development team, which is based in Slovenia, is quite representative. Reactivity, precision, pedagogy as well – I’m also learning every time!
Important precision, if the sale of a system such as the STS is preceded by a request for prior information, I can confirm the compatibility or not, as already stated in this general article presenting the Smart Turn concept. This was the case here, it would be great if motorcycle professionals were a bit more interested in these solutions…
REMINDER: Is your bike compatible?
The compatibility of the STS® automatic turn signal canceler depends on the type of turn signal switch
– Mechanical switch
fully compatible (approx. 85% of motorcycles), like the Thruxton
– Electrical switch
under development (approx. 15% of motorcycles),
– LIN bus on the left-hand switch (LHS)
not compatible (only recent models of Ducati and BMW motorcycles).
