In the amount of messages received by Nova Moto, after using the innovations that the company has been distributing since 2011, there is a large proportion of motorcyclists making intensive use of their machine(s). Of all profiles, some of them are also urban scooter riders and use the bike in their leisure time, others ride exclusively on travelling tours. No wonder, the innovations detected and tested by Nova Moto are largely oriented in this direction: just the 4 products for which Nova Moto is distributor in the French-speaking area – CLS Evo automatic lubricator, Motoairbag vest airbag, Air-Stop anti-puncture preventive, STS automatic turn signal stop – are strongly connoted in this direction. The additional offer -Swinglight adaptive lights, SW Motech luggage, Airhawk comfort cushions, SIXS technical thermo-regulating underwear, Hyperkewl cooling accessories- is no exception either, even if the use of the latter also extends to outdoor use (cycling, running etc…).
So, here are some feedback from our travellers, which you can also find in the Nova Moto customer testimonials:
Jean-Michel A, back from Chile : Motoairbag V2.0C (1621/4:2013 and SRA 3***stars)
The vest (V2, double-airbag) went 4798 km around me.
Departure from Santiago de Chile, eastwards to Argentina, up the Andes Cordillera to the north to cross it again westwards to the Pacific and along the Chilean coast to the south to return the GS rental.
Temperature depending on time and altitude: from 4 to 20 degrees (from sea level to 5000 meters).
I never left it, on average 7-8 hours a day, always buckled up, zipper closed completely, and attached to the belt on the bike.
For 48 hours I fixed the cord in front of me forgetting that I MUST fix it behind (logic, it leaves the vest from the back!), it pulls the vest forward and this makes it create a more or less painful discomfort to the scapula.
(NOTE Nova Moto: be careful to follow the product instructions, I will try to insist even more on points that seem obvious. Thank you very much for this feedback Jean-Marc))
Under the vest :
– a SCOTT summer jacket (with VERY airy sleeves),
– possibly an intermediate layer (DAINESE Softshell jacket) when there was too much ventilation through the sleeves
– a sports jersey (short or long sleeves, more or less pre body, depending on the outside temperature)
– neck warmer if cold (not often)
In the vest pockets:
– neck warmer
– silk gloves
SUMMARY=
– I LIKE
the technical description (air volume of the airbags)
numerous and easy adjustments
the feeling of safety
protection against the cold (the summer jacket was more than enough)
perceived quality
the look (it looks manly, we look a bit like a COMMANDO with a bulletproof vest)
the (small) reflective marks (we drove at night)
the easy to clean CORDURA
the weight contained and well balanced
– I REGRETTED
the edge of the collar is a bit aggressive to the neck skin if no neckband is put on (the manufacturer might consider adding a neoprene band)
heat management is a bit complicated (difficult to ventilate the torso, the back vents of the jacket are closesd) (I’m going to the Pyrenees in August, it’s going to be a test)
the hook at the end of the leash is not very easy, especially if you have winter gloves, maybe you need to improve (?)

I took this seat cushion for my wife on a trip to Scotland, after more than 6000km I can confirm that the comfort is at the top for the long hours spent on the bike.

Thanks to Isabelle for recommending Hyperkewl Techniche cooling vests for our motorcycle trip to Iran. The delivery was very fast and moreover, they exist for men and women and in color! Despite high temperatures with regular peaks of 40 to 43, we did not suffer from the heat, they are very easy to use, just dip them in water.
