In 2022, the comeback of the Spa-Francorchamps circuit to the EWC calendar was already very strong in terms of the race in itself, and the emotional impact for all the motorbike endurance enthusiasts who were lucky enough to know the previous races until 1990 on this track.
The expectations for 2023 are therefore clear: to make this a great sport event and also … to see the circuit grow in terms of organisation and, consequently, visitor numbers.
On the sport front, the menu looks to be a generous one!
First of all, we have a local Belgian team, BMW Motorrad World Endurance, managed by Werner Daemen, victorious in 2022 and always very sharp, which made the podium in mid-April at Le Mans behind the current world champion FCC TSR Honda France and the Yart. Another candidate for a podium finish at Spa is SERT Yoshimura Team, who was unlucky on the Bugatti.
Another team to keep an eye on is KM99, with Bastien Mackels, another national rider, who has just joined the team after a spell with Tati Team and seasons with Team 18 Sapeurs-Pompiers.
